Located in the heart of Rueda, Cuatro Rayas are one of the longest serving producers in Rueda. Since their establishment in 1935 they’ve been pioneers in adopting new trends and innovations in viticulture and winemaking. Their ideology is to combine both tradition and technology to produce the best possible white wine.

The bodega has over 2,150ha of vineyards, most of which focus on Verdejo but there are also plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, Viura, Palomino Fino and Tempranillo. Among these vineyards, they have a small portion of century-old, prephylloxera bush vines.

Cuatra Rayas is a leading voice in the movement towards sustainability. They established the Green & Social program to embody their commitment to both the natural and human environment. As part of this initiative they have implemented measures ranging from improved ecological management in the vineyard to using 100% recyclable and natural materials in their packaging, even going so far as to develop plastic free capsules and use water based ink on their labels.

“The cooperative wants to give value to many social and environmental actions that we have been carrying out for years.”

Álvaro Gago - Manager of Sustainability
