Husband and wife team Ben and Hannah Witchell may be relative newcomers to the winemaking business, but they're already making waves throughout the UK.
Since its establishment in 2016, Flint Vineyard has developed a stellar reputation as one of England's best wineries. Owners Ben and Hannah made the decision to pursue their love of wine back in 2007, quitting their jobs to travel to the world's best winemaking regions, before eventually setting up their own vineyards on home soil when they joined forces with Norfolk farmer Adrian Hipwell to form Flint Vineyards in the sunniest, driest region in the UK.
Alongside his first class degree from Plumpton, a stint of winemaking in Beaujolais taught Ben to throw out the rulebook when it came to winemaking, in favour of the intuitive and innovative. Today, Flint is a pioneer of the Charmat method in the UK, favouring this over the traditional methods more commonly found on the English market. Alongside its artisanal Charmat Rosé, described as having 'exceptional character', Flint Vineyard also produces a fantastic range of still wines, and is recognised as a leading producer of English Bacchus.
