Boston native Robert Smerling founded Renwood in 1993, after falling in love wit Amador County's rich history and magnificent vineyards. His plan for it to become one of America's premier Zinfandel wineries was a success. Renwood Winery today is famed across the globe for its Zinfandel, and boasts some of the country's oldest surviving vines.
