The name Riva Leone is taken from the name of a wine merchant from Alba in Northern Italy, who at the beginning of 20th century decided to bottle the wine that he sold on tap to his clients. The house portrayed in the label shows his shop in the countryside of Alba.

Italian classics such as Gavi and Barbera have been around for many a year, but the advent and uptake of modern winemaking techniques by producers such as Riva Leone is bringing these great wines to the attention of a whole new audience.

Produced and bottled in a state of the art winery in Priocco, Riva Leone is a fantastic example of modern Italian winemaking at its best.
